I called on Thursday 3/14 and talked to Jeannie in the NY office. Spent a fair amount of time explaining what I was looking for, gave my contact info and waited for email with pricing and suggestions.

Basically, I was ghosted.

I called back Monday 3/18 and was told Jeannie was on the phone. They had me leave a message and said they would reach out to her when she is off the phone. Again, I was ghosted.

I called on Tuesday 3/19 and was told she was on the phone, but they would have her call back. Instead of reaching out on the contact info on my file she calls my work number and leaves a message asking if my email was correct.

I call back and was told she was on the phone. I confirmed my email and said very plainly and clearly have her call my personal cell and confirmed the number.

She calls and leaves a message on my work phone.

I called back and requested Liberty delete anything they have on file for me because they can't seem to follow simple instructions.

Stars wise I would probably give a negative number. I wasted a LOT of time and in the end Jeannie has yet to be able to follow simple instructions or provide information requested.

Was trying to get pricing and alternate ideas for vacation to Hawaii. Never sent requested info to email.

Never reached out Ignored contact info in profile.

Did not listen to what number to reach out to after call backs and contact info confirmation. After a half dozen or more calls getting me nowhere i finally told them never mind

Southwest and delaying their first flight of the morning was the joke we did make out connection to Cancun but had to hustle to make the connection before the doors closed . Liberty was great when I called for suggestions

This is with regard to the very unfortunate trip to MEXICO. We were very unhappy about the manner that we were treated at DREAMS Sand, in Cancun / DREAMS Tulum.

- Once we did arrive in Mexico, things took a turned from bad to worse. Arrived at the Dreams Sands Resort to be informed that it was a fire on the day before. We were told and ask that we would be moved to Dreams Tulum, which was a 1 1/2 hours away. Dreams Sands, informed us that we would receive the same treatment that we originally offered to us.

After, being transported with several other guests to this resort. We also had to drop off another couple to a different resort, so a trip that was supposed to take only 1 1/2 hours took 2 hours. Once we arrived at Dreams, Tulum they were not prepared to accommodate, so we had to wait for another 45 minutes. We were placed on the 3rd floor, with no ocean view front, which this is what we paid for at the other resort.

Within a few hours of getting in the room, our lights and water want out a few times. So, we had to wait to get freshened up and get something to eat. At, this time, we had to request for more towels and wash clothes. We also had to call to get our refrigerator replace, because it was not working at all.

This made us have a late dinner, which was cold and nasty. - While showering the water pressure drop, and we had to wait to continue to get ready for breakfast. Going to the elevator and notice that it was out of order.(the elevator was NEVER repaired)We received a notice in the door requesting us to come down to the front desk for a VIP notice. Once, we walked down from the 3rd floor and then walked back up to the front desk.

Only to be solicited for time share for the DREAMS resort. We were not interested in that and ask if we could attend a Wine or Tequila tasting. We were told that the ONLY one that they had was full, and the next one was on Friday. The problem with that is that we were leaving on that day.

So, ask could be gone to one of the sister's resorts of Dreams Sands or Tulum to do the Wine or Tequila tasting and was told NO, we don't do that. Each resort is separate, and they can't do that. Some of the drinks that we requested were NOT make with top shelf liquor, and some of our food was cold. We had to request for extra towels and wash clothes again, after the room was cleaned.

Since Dreams Tulum had no intent to accommodate the birthday of the ladies here, we just spent the day at the beach. While, on the beach we notice several armed men in uniform with AK-47.
Upon, returning to our room we notice sand on the floor even after the room was supposed to be cleaned by housekeeping. We cleaned the sand after the floor and got ready to try to enjoy the rest of our birthday. Our birthday was a total washout.

- Since, we just wanted to make the last day in Mexico an enjoyable day. We made plans to have a nice dinner for a party of 3. I notice a family while at lunch have a wonderful looking lunch. So, we then decided to ask the manager, can we have that same meal for dinner.

Salvador "the manage" suggested a private dinner for us since we were still trying to make the most of the birthday week. So, he took our order and requested a deposit of $20.00 dollars, and we paid him $40.00 to make sure that everything was in order. The total of the meal was supposed to be $70.00 for a party of 4. We were to pay the rest at the time of dinner.

Salvador, gave the information to the chef in order to have it prepared by 8:00 pm. Upon arrival , the dinner was NOT ready, so we had to wait 30 minutes. Once, the food was placed on our table, the it was only a potion for a party of 2. Then, we were also told that our room was being billed $70.00 for this meal.

We spoke with the manager that was working that night and Salvador's manager. The manager requested that we write an incident report about how Salvador took the money and lying about what he was going to prepare for the birthday / last night dinner. We also request a birthday cake that we NEVER received. We were taking to the VIP area in order to write the statement about the meal.
This was the meal that we received:
3 pieces of grill chicken
20 steam shrimp
1 ear of corn cut into 4 pieces.
After, all the information was complete and submitted to the manager on call and Salvador's manager.

We were told that a refund would be to the front desk in the morning, and we would not be billed. We requested to meet with Salvador, but were told that he would be off on Friday,November 5, 2021.
As you can see from the details at the top, this trip was a COMPLETE Birthday disaster. I wish we could say that DREAMS was just that, a dream, but it was a NIGHTMARE to say the least.

We still have NOT heard anything from the travel agency from the Belair Maryland Office since November 9,2021 @ 11:00am. We were told that she would call us back.:(

Cannot get refund

First I have never seen anything like this, agent is literally on vacation every week for 3 days (and doesnt have phone service) where does he go. We have been trying to get the refund from united vacations which he booked us through cause we had insurance and my motherinlaw broke her ankle.

This has been going on since 2020, he finally emails with a name and states united vacations said charge them back, so we tried and that didn't work. Called corp office since we can never get in touch with agent, and they will send an email to some management team. Never to be heard from again. Besides the fact that Liberty travel is never available when you need them, united airlines cancelled our flight 8 hours before take off without giving any alt flights, and old kipp was on vacation for another 3 days like always where he would not have phone service, so we had to spend1700$ on plane tickets through jetblue and get there a day late.

we were able to get the 1700$ back after hours upon hours on the phone and over a month. Do yourself a favor a book the trip yourself with expedia or something, they are available all the time and have much better service.

This way you are not counting on people who could care less to help you. You help yourself

The issue has been resolved and corrected by all parties. We talked and both companies Dreams Sand and Liberty Travel did a outstanding job on this matter.

Trip to Ireland May 2021

We booked our trip to Ireland for the following year of a Pandemic. But unfortunately the Pandemic continued past the time of our scheduled trip.

Liberty Travel was NO help! No communication; had to call agency, leave messages and when I tried to speak to OUR agent she was changed 3 times! We had travel insurance, you would think you purchase insurance to insure you... I think different now.

No one could give us a straight answer just to cancel the policy. Airlines would not refund ticket monies until the agency said so. Really!!! It's my name on the ticket and my money...after yelling and screaming to the airlines, I finally got our money!

The Tour...well the tour company tells you one thing and when you do get in touch with a live agent...they tell you something else. We also found out that many of the Liberty Travel stores had closed and a Chapter 11 was filed. Nothing like losing all your money during a Pandemic after you lost your job previously!!! Take my advice...

I have been to a lot of places being a US Army veteran...traveled many places. DO NOT USE LIBERTY TRAVEL for your traveling plans.

I had a reservation at your Cherry Hill office yesterday 3-5-2021 They were two travel agents there 'Tysheda Williams and I did not get the other girls name but she came to the door and Ask me if I had a reservation and I said yes I give her my name Lionel Hampton then she close the door left me outside in the cold and it was very windy ' I personally think black people treated very differently if I would have been white she would have let me in ; then she hand me one piece of paper it was a good thing I did not leave because I did not have all my documents that I need' I will not be doing with Liberty Travel in the future.

Cancellation Fee

Have reservations, to celebrate a milestone birthday, at a resort in Punta Cana in December of this year. The travel company, Liberty Travel has a mandatory cancellation fee of seventy five dollars per person payable even if conditions (covid 19) make it impossible to travel. Needless to say I find this to be very unfair, poor customer relations and a very intractable position. Conversations with both the agent and his manager have been fruitless as they insist that we can change the date. It's a birthday celebration not just a vacation that we can reschedule.

Hi I’m reaching out because I booked a trip to DR but then the virus came and I was no longer able to pay because myself and bf lost our job and he got sick as well! I understand that it’s non refundable but I think they need to give it back since the resort I was going to isn’t opening until oct and I was going in aug. I really need that 300 bucks back! This is something I’m going to fight until the end .

You obviously didn’t ask the right questions or read the fine print. Most deposits are refundable until your final payment is due. If you canceled too late you’re not entitled to a refund but can use your deposit towards a future trip which is better than losing everything!

Refund

Absolutely horrible customer service...from beginning of experience, while I still fight for my full refund due the shutdown due to COVID.

I signed with Liberty against my better judgement. The customer agent was so unhelpful..but rather, bullied and basically laughed at me because I was doing my own research.

I blame MYSELF for signing.

Then the shutdown happened. I called once I found out the hotel was going to be closed past our planned travel. The airlines was also offering full refund..not future flights. I spoke to someone in the original location we went visited to request a refund.

To my 'surprise" the person who "assisted" us was no longer there. I waited for a return call. after multiple calls to a different person each time I was finally informed I needed to request a cancellation in writing via email. That was April 20, 2020.

To this date I have received ONE email from the cancellation "team" asking me to be patient. I am so angry and upset. First with myself for not listening to my "gut instinct" and with Liberty Travel in general.

Had I handled this on my own I would have received my large refunds by now. They say they are not holding onto my money....that is very questionable.

I am writing this letter regarding our trip to Cancun from Philadelphia. Dates are: 2/3-2/7/2019. My husband and I went to the Philadelphia airport on 2/3 and proceeded to check in. The representative at the counter looked at my husbands passport then proceeds to tell us she has to speak to her manger. There was a small fray in my husbands passport. The supervisor informed the customer service rep that my husband couldn’t travel with that passport. She then gives us another booking for my husband for the next day, 2/4 and suggested we contact liberty travel 24/7 number. The booking was for one way for $500!!! The 24/7 rep also suggested my husband get a copy of his new itinerary and go to the passport center in Philadelphia the next morning. My husband went there at 5 am to stand in line, the center didn’t open until 8 am but he wanted to be first in line since his new flight was 330pm. He was able to get a new passport with a charge of $175.00 as well as $14.00 for a new picture. After receiving his new passport he then went to the airport. The reason I am writing this letter is to file a complaint with Liberty Travel corporate office. We used Liberty travel in the past and no issues. My issue now is not only did we pay $500 for a new ONE WAY airfare, we paid 175 for new passport. We were never informed by liberty travel that the passport needed to be in pristine condition. When I receivers our red package with the information for our trip Britney didn’t go over what was in the red package, she stated she was with a customer and if we had questions to let her know. Why weren’t we told about the passport needing to be in pristine condition?? A recommendation would be when ppl book trips to bring in passport so your agency can look them over??? Besides being out $675, my husband missed almost 2 days of the 5 day trip since he arrived 10:00pm Monday, which is basically an entire day!!! I contacted Liberty Travel, Cherry Hill office Monday morning at 9am and spoke to Elise who couldn’t help me. I then asked for her manager, Asia, who wasn’t available until 11am and was told to call back. I called Asia back at 11am and she said she can’t do anything for me for at least 30-45 days. I asked for another day added to the trip for all the inconvenience and that couldn’t be done because I would need to pay extra for airfare. I then asked for her manager. She gave me Carl’s number it was the corporate office number. I contacted Carl the next day and they gave me his voicemail. I left a message. I then received a phone call last night from Toshiba, manager of Asia i presume. Again, no help. She told me to contact 24/7 customer service. I’m tired of these back and forth calls with no help. So reaching out this way in hopes someone can help me without giving me the complete runaround !!!! I’m extremely disappointed with this trip and I am as vocal as I can be with how Liberty handled the situation !!! Also, as I mentioned to The 2 mgrs at cherry Office we went to Canada last October with that same passport and had zero issues !!! I would like to know what your company plans on doing about this. I am a dissatisfied customer and this entire ordeal ruined our vacation not to mention very expensive !!!!

Omg lady really? Do you expect the travel agent to tell you to wipe after going to the bathroom too? It’s YOUR responsibility to know the laws and rules when you travel, it’s YOUR passport, take some responsibility, I mean holy cow

Liberty management gave us a $200 credit which, after the fact, is about the best that we could expect. Their failure to reconfirm anything could have spelled a disaster for us, but thanks to the people of the Krakow Sheraton, it turned out ok.

My wife and I decided to take a big (and costly) trip to celebrate our 20th anniversary. I usually book my own travel, but because the trip involved travel in Europe, we decided to book through a travel agency. We wound up booking 3 nights in Venice, Italy, followed by a 7-night Royal Caribbean cruise to the Greek Isles, followed by a 2-night stay in Krakow, Poland, with a tour of Auschwitz/Birkenau. The tour of Auschwitz was on my wife's "bucket list" of things that she wanted to do before death. (We are in our 60's) Touring Auschwitz was our sole reason for travel to Poland. We arrived in the hotel lobby as instructed by the voucher provided for us by Liberty. This was our only day in Poland, and was dedicated to the tour. We stood in the lobby with voucher, camera, umbrella, and water in hand and ready to go. When it was 30 minutes past the time of meeting that was specified in the voucher, my wife called the emergency number that was listed on the voucher. The number was in the UK and we called at our expense. We had to call twice, as the first call resulted in being placed on hold, and the call eventually dropped. When my wife finally got through, she was told that the tour had been cancelled "last year". She immediately burst into tears. We had booked the vacation with Liberty nine months in advance, and it was obvious that nothing on the trip had been reconfirmed or re-booked when cancelled. Liberty had done nothing but the original booking nine months prior to travel. We were both stressed to the max. as the hotel concierge called around trying to get us on a tour ASAP, as we were only in Poland for that one day. Fortunately, he finally found a bus tour that was departing in 2+1/2 hours that had two spots left, and we went on a tour. We paid again for the tour even though we had already paid Liberty. The tour that we had booked was a private tour, and we wound up on a bus tour. We also lost about 3 hours in Krakow as there wasn't time before or after the bus tour to go sightseeing. Liberty has gone to the "extremes" of offering us a small future travel credit as compensation, but we obviously will never book anything with them again, and want cash compensation for the time we lost and the stress on a vacation due to their failure to perform.
